Although a lot of new music projects are being worked on in the background, we have a relatively short newsletter. Â
After 10 years, I will join the My Breath My Music foundation on stage again. The location is Poppodium Boerderij (just like in 2016) in Zoetermeer, and the event, featuring members of the foundation, takes place on February 7th, 2027. Tickets are on sale, and already going fast. Â

REMY & Däcker - "Yvelines" video | | Â
"Yvelines" is recent collaboration project by Peter Dekker (Däcker) and me (REMY). Those who have already heard the music and/or watched the blu-ray video, are likely to confirm that it's a project which is most likely not an instant ear-candy for most listeners. It rather is a project that was created in the moment and in a specific mind-state. Fast-listening and then judging this project is 100% not an option! Â
Because we think the video we made (and which is available as limited edition blu-ray), as well as the story behind this project, are significant to understand, judge, and fully enjoy this project, we decided to share a lower resolution (720p, 2.0 audio, instead of 1080p, 2.0 and 5.1 audio as featured on the blu-ray) version with the world. My Breath My Music | |
Ten years ago (October 9th, 2016) I had the honour of being part of a beneficial evening for the My Breath My Music foundation at Poppodium Boerderij in Zoetermeer. An instutute focussing on severe disabled people, enabling the targeted group to make music on a professional level, with the help of adjusted and customized musical instruments like the Magic Flute.
A couple of years before, we started our collaboration with an improvised studio session, which was released on CD as "Sessions 2012". Â
February 7th, 2027, the foundation organizes another concert at this venue. I will also be part of this evening again. However, the motivation for the event is slightly in minor: Â
The My Breath My Music (MBMM) Foundation presents a unique concert featuring young people with severe physical disabilities. On stage, professional musicians come together with children and adults with disabilities for a special musical collaboration.
This concert is dedicated to Ruud van der Wel, the founder of MBMM and the creator of most of the instruments used. In late August, Ruud received the devastating news that he has ALS. He wants to go all out one last time with this fantastic concert.
Together with the MBMM house band 'De Bridge', young talent, and professional musicians Sem Jansen & Leif de Leeuw—who have frequently performed at Poppodium Boerderij—MBMM is staging a truly special concert. 'De Bridge' performed on this stage ten years ago, and now it is high time to do it again! In doing so, MBMM demonstrates how technology breaks down physical barriers and enables inclusion in music.
MBMM develops innovative electronic musical instruments that allow children and young adults with disabilities to make music themselves—and what music it is! Presenter Karin van Dijk, herself a musician with a physical disability, guides the audience through an afternoon filled with Southern rock, singer-songwriter tunes, and pop/rock, where every talent counts. Thanks to instruments like the Magic Flute, Adaptive Travel Sax, and EyePlayChords, everyone can join in and experience the joy of music.
The concert has been organized to be as accessible as possible, featuring extra support staff and ample wheelchair spaces so that everyone can enjoy the show. During the concert, the venue's cafĂ© offers a space to sit quietly, rest, or take a break from sensory stimulation. This makes the MBMM afternoon a unique musical experience where talent and enjoyment truly know no bounds. Â
